Adopt-A-Cat

We are always facing cat issues in our small hometown. Bates county does not have a cat shelter and many citizens choose to look away. It is a sad day when humans will not help a homeless animal. Stop and consider the food your family waste or does not eat and ends up in the trash. Please consider helping feed a starving animal here in Adrian or in your town. Here in Adrian, I am asking for help in any form. We are not a non-profit organization yet but we still could use your help. We welcome bags of food to help feed the homeless and stray cats around town without a home.

We welcome bags of food to help feed the homeless and stray cats around town without a home. We need funds to help spay and neuter cats to stop the continual breeding cycle of cats. Just consider the millions of cats are saved by fixing cats living in the wild. We bare also looking for material or old dog houses to be placed around to help get the cats out of the cold weather coming our way.

I don’t want animals eating out of trash cans, so I encourage friends to put their safe leftovers outside in safe place. Animals are forced to leave the cat and only give it food. We have developed certain places where we know cats gather and that’s where we feed them. Unfortunately, we have to be sure people in the area is not going to complain to the city. We are not the only group feeding cats in Adrian, Mo. but they have to stay outside because people can not bring them in.

Unfortunately, not everyone wants to help us nor have the cats around their neighborhood.  Please make sure you have permission before placing items on someone’s property. I know people in certain areas will complain to the city and we don not want any trouble for anyone.

The cat shelters in Kansas City are full and many have a standing waiting list. Many kittens have been turned down or left on the streets to fend for themselves because no one wants to take them in. Please help a stray cat if you can or see if you can find a shelter with an opening. We hope and pray things will get better here in Adrian, Mo.

Considering Non-Profit status and this could help our cause in Bates county MO. Perhaps we could open a cat shelter here in Adrian then Bates county would have a shelter for some of their cats. However, there is no guarantee about getting the extra help with a Non-Profit label but we could offer a tax deductible receipt if we are legalized to accept cash and other items donated.

I have been trying to help cats in Adrian, Mo. for years. I am very thankful to those who have opened their home to one of the cats saved from the street. I can not thank you enough and I encourage you to ask your friends to help. The cats will be fixed, wormed, and have some shots but they need a home with a family willing to love and care for them daily.

I love my children dearly and our efforts to help others or animals. My mission for this blog will be to inform others about the issues we face assisting the abandoned or stray/feral cats in our neighborhood. We accept all forms of help and we are just a small family trying to impact the group of cats in near our home. Food and toys, cat litter and litter pans, are always needed but cash donations need to go to a vet in our area. We are not a charity yet but we do what we can. Please contact me if you have anything you could contribute to our efforts. Thank you for your time and support.
