Do you have a pet or considering getting one? We are excited to share your excitement. Please do no purchase from a store or a breeder when there are shelters flooded with animals needing a loving home. Adopting a pet is a compassionate thing to do and we hope you will get your friends and family to adopt a pet with you. Thank you for opening your hearts and your homes for that special pet.
Becoming a pet owner is rarely celebrated but we try to celebrate every time we find a home for a cat we saved from the streets. We try to share all the information we have gathered about the cat we saved. We provide a list of all the shots and or medications the animal has received after being tamed from the wild. We also try to have them all fixed before rehoming them with their new family and litter trained. Helping cats adjust to a life inside after being a feral cat is not easy for most cats.
Helping cats adjust to a life inside after being a feral cat is not easy for most cats. We have to build up trust from the cat and we hope that the family will develop the same trust relationship within a few days. Cats, like humans, need to feel safe and having a pet carrier or taxi will help them feel safe during the journey home Some cats may even sleep in these items until they explore their surroundings. There are many things you can do for your cat will help bond or strengthen your new relationship.
Seasons are changing and so is the weather. I am never looking forward to the warm weather or high humidity that exist in Missouri but it does remind me to check on others and pets that may struggle in the heat. Please consider how pets respond to the coming warm weather and always be alert to those animals in need of your help in the heat. You can save an animal’s life within seconds if you spot a pet locked in a car with the windows up. You can make a difference for the pets every day.
Please consider adopting or fostering a cat that is locked in a cage at a shelter. We are thankful for the NO KILL laws but animals need exercise daily. We do not have a shelter in our county and we desperately need the help. My family and I are trying to make a difference for the animals around us and are very thankful for those who support our efforts.
